When was the last time that you decided against the Lien Process?

Lien Process Blues – After what seems like years of thinking about what was needed to help with what I consider to be the biggest problem that a business faces on a daily basis, I decided it time to do something about it.

The problem was, that even to me who knew the issue on a very personal level, I still felt what was needed to be done, was a strange concept.

Not strange as in unusual in its approach, but against the grain of the “social norms”.

Self Employed At Work

I knew that accountability on the side of the ‘Customer’ was sadly lacking, and that only a gentle, easy to swallow and familiar solution would be acceptable.

How do you make the customer do their part, the one that you agreed upon, and the one for the most part you have succeeded in fulfilling but they have managed to make difficult or as on so many occasions, fruitless?

The legal solution to customer woes are, for the most part, useless.

If a customer treats you improperly, wastes your time, unfairly damages your reputation, refuses to pay or, convinces your staff to work on the side for them, in order to have work done cheaper after cancelling that part of the job with you, there is not a great deal of options open to the business.

The lien process, which is often the last and really the only resort a company has to make sure that a customer fulfils their obligations, is riddled with obstacles. One of which is that, if another company already has an outstanding lien on a property, your claim of lien cannot be perused until the first is satisfied, and if you don’t keep the claim going, it will drop off and your claim is gone, poof, nothing you can do!

The Lien Process Blues

What we needed was something that could be instantaneous in its effect. We needed something that could be viewed by the masses, and we needed something that, when became known to the wider population, could be a gentle reminder that we all have a professional standard to adhere to, even as a customer.

What we came up with, is just amazing….

Designed around the needs of the busy business owner who predominantly uses the cell phone over a laptop or desktop, this app-based solution allows for the full flow of dealing with a customer to be taken care of but with the added advantage of being able to see the customer in greater focus and allowing for a more informed interaction.

From the live Internal Background Checks, the ability to read the ratings for customers from other businesses, to the Searchable Transactional History creation, all of the way to the Bespoke Customer Follow Up Emails designed to not only encourage your customers to rate you company in return but to also nurture Greater Customer Loyalty, and everything in-between.

If the Invoice is yet to be paid and the customer is yet to make arrangements – You are able to create Lien Documentation directly from your Hindsight Rated app.

I was able to contact, at random, a user of Hindsight rated, who had only been part of the community for several weeks. This user told me of how the greater insight that the Hindsight Rated tools had allowed him, had transformed how he was able to approach his day-to-day dealings with customers both new and existing. He told me of how it made him more confident in his work and that where once he was guarded, Hindsight Rated had now given him the freedom to be nicer.

Small Business Owner Being Nicer

Another user who I spoke to said that she was able to successfully close a non-payment that had been open for months. After her customer received the one-star review which she had shared through the Hindsight Rated system, they contacted her office to ask what it all meant. Two days later she received a check.

If a Lien has been sent and the interaction logged by another company – This log, after it has been accepted by our admin, will be visible almost immediately.

Here’s how Hindsight Rated Works:

  1. The customer contacts the business – You run the simple but effective background check within your Hindsight Rated app.
  2. If the customer has less than a 5 star rating – You can then look deeper, see past ratings and comments.
  3. If a Lien has been sent and the interaction logged by another company – This log, after it has been accepted by our admin, will be visible almost immediately.
  4. Your Hindsight Rated app allows you to create and send Quotations and Invoices – An internal fuse is lit and within 35 days you will be prompted on whether the transaction has been satisfied.
  5. If the Invoice is yet to be paid and the customer is yet to make arrangements – You are able to create Lien Documentation directly from your Hindsight Rated app.
  6. All documentation created is visible within a searchable transaction history log within your ‘Paperwork’ section of your app.

I am always interested in hearing how Hindsight Rated has worked for you and your business, how being part of the Hindsight Rated community has changed the way that your business approaches the customer and what it means to know that there is at last a little balance.

If you’d like, you can contact me directly through the Hindsight Rated app. Simply tap the ‘Menu’ icon at the bottom of the Hindsight Rated screen and then press on ‘Help’, this allows you to use ‘WhatsApp’ to message the Hindsight Rated team with any questions or issues you may have.
